i'm not the most savy electronics person, so please forgive me in advance.

i'm having trouble getting my tv to show video from my dvd player in 480p. i have a panasonic dvd-f85 dvd player with selectable interlaced/progressive-scan component video output. i also have a mits ws48511 hdtv. i've connected the video sources between the two using component cables. i then made sure that the progressive scan was enabled on my dvd player. shouldn't my tv automatically switch to 480p when the progressive scan is enabled by the dvd player? it still says 480i when i'm watching a movie. i've looked through the manuals of both and i'm stuck.

thanks for any help.

That is the beauty of Mits; They tell you what your input is. I wish all did that!

I don't have an answer but according to your Mits the player is not switching over to 480P.
