Well I just answered my own question, I had dish before going to cable and the reason I left dish was poor customer service, if you can even call it that.
So I call dish about this HDTV deal and they ask me if I was ever a customer, and I said about a year ago and they tell me I can't get the deal that it is only for first time users. Now it comes back to me on why I left them to begin with!! And they wonder why their not keeping customers.

Yes it does sound like a good deal but the looks of it, the TVs look like RCAs which you couldn't give me. The other deal they have is $1999 for the PVR 921 (HD recorder with 250g hard drive) and the same TVs.

Another piece, not so generally broadcasted. These TVs will only work with DishNetwork receivers. They are proprietary.

So, if later you decide to go somewhere else for programming, like OTA, CATV or DirecTV, your tube doesn't work.

I'd say beware.....
