I have a Sony 60" XBR 800 LCD that is too big for my refurbished family room. Three inches too wide because of the side speakers. Thanks Sony. And a big >AHEM< thank you to my wife for creating this problem. I'm thinking about the Samsung HLN 617W DLP. Same screen size, but it fits right into the space.
Any opinions on the Samsung DLP vs the Sony LCD before I sell the Sony?

Cannot make the comparison you are looking for(except for what I have seen in stores), but have recently purchased the Samsung #HLN4365W, and the picture quality is absolutely supberb. Don't know how it is going to hold-up over time, but we shall see. The bulb is supposed to last approx. 8000 hours from what I have heard. This set by the way is a 43" widescreen. May also be somewhat more expensive than the LCD, but what the heck. If you like to be on the cutting edge of technology, go for it!

I have a DLP set also. When looking at them in the store, I really didn't notice a huge difference between the two. The DLP to me, seemed less pixelated with a good signal. This could just be my perseption. The thing that sold me on DLP was that I knew my wife would leave it on all day, mostly on 4:3 content. I just don't have to worry about burn in.

Just for curiousity, where do you live, and how much would you want for the Sony. I have a 65" mitsu Diamond, but might want to get another set for my basement.
Thanks
Doug
