I have a Samsung DLP with a comcast high def hook up. I was wondering with all the talk of scalers recently, whether it would greatly improve the SD cable signals if I added a scaler such as the BRITEVIEW /AVT-3700 SCALER? The SD signal through comcast sucks! Even when I turn off the 480P and try to get the box to upconvert the signal it still doesn't do much at all. Is there anyway to get a better SD signal? Thanks

Will a scaler still be effective on a compressed analog signal? I have a Sammy DLP and Comcast HD as well. I agree that the analog SD signals look like crap; however, the digital SD signals to me look alot better.
I think it's the compression that is the problem and I don't think a scaler can fix that. Also, it's known that the Moto 5100 boxes do a bad job with the analog channels. When watching analog channels, I switch from the Moto to the coax I have going straight to the TV.

Buy a VCR or DVD recorder, connect to a quality scaler set for 720P output and I guarantee you will get a better picture. I recommend the Lumagen Vision and will be happy to demo any serious inquiries in the Atlanta area.
