I heard recently that D* will soon present a Tivo HD for around $1000. I never had Tivo but maybe I'll get this HD model when it finally comes out. I do not know much about Tivo but people say it beats the heck out of a VCR. Does anyone know if this unit will be a D* receiver too or just a stand alone box? The reason I ask is that I have the Zenith 520 STB which is both my HD and D* receiver so I don't know how two receivers could be compatible with each other. In other words, would the dish be connected to Tivo or the 520 and which box would provide me the program grid? Or, is this Tivo simply a recorder with a hard drive that does HD? Also, does anyone know if I have to run more coax lines from my dish in addition to what is already there to make this Tivo work with my HD system? Thanks in advance.

I use a Panasonic DVD recorder with hard drive allowing to me to record or play when ever I want; Even when recording. A VCR or even a PVR that acts like a VCR seems like stone knives and bear skin rugs by comparison...

You can replace your existing STB but the Tivo HD can use two separate lines so you'll probably want to run two lines from the dish to the Tivo. You could also keep your existing STB with a 3rd line. The oval dish has 4 coax outputs built in.
