ABC's oscar presentation was excellent last night I thought. Liked that the preshow was also in HD and 5.1 sound. the sound was freaky on the preshow with the crowd noise in the surrounds. didnt notice any problems, audio sync or video during the entire telecast. my abc affilliate is the only local that does 5.1 and it showed last night. loved the sound. did anyone get to see the INHD showing of the E live at the red carpet? was wondering how that was produced and came off.

I noticed a couple of brief "blips" in the broadcast. The picture and sound would go out for a second and then come right back on. This happened twice (in the 2 hours that I watched) and wasn't all that bad at all. This was Boston Comcast.
More noticeable to me was the poor Oscar-winner who got cut-off by the segway music (toward the end of his long list of "thank you" names). I'm sure they need to keep the acceptance speeches reasonable, but I think it's ironic how they air hours of "red carpet" interviews and a 20-minute Billy Crystal intorduction and all of this music and humor, but each winner only has about 20 seconds of speech time. Oh well, I guess people would rather see the humor, than the actual awards....

I experienced the following dropouts during the Oscars -
1 picture dropout lasting about a second
2 back-to-back picture + sound dropouts lasting about 2 seconds ... one of which caused a loud "snap" in my from speaker.
1 sound dropout lasting about a second
