Firewire & DVI Connections

I have a JVC DVHS VCR that has Firewire connection jacks. This is the only way HD signals can be recorded. How can I connect this to the new Hughes Direct TV Receiver that has DVI a output jack? If there is no way to do this, is there another Direct TV Receiver that has a Firewire connection?

It's not the best going back to tape for the recording medium, but for now, this is the only widely available method of recording HD signals. Playback of prerecorded D-Theater tapes is outstanding!!

Your help would be appreciated on the connection problem.

Thank you,

Go to this site...> http://www.169time.com/ It is the only way currently for you to record off Directv. They convert the Toshiba (hughes) DST-3000. reciever and equip it with an I-link and mini computer for recording off HD Directv...[expect to pay a Grand or more].
