Since everyone likes to bitch and moan and complain how unoriginal I am, I've decided to record a brand new Gethsemane, the likes of which the world has never heard.
I took a nifty rather slow dance beat that I made in Fruity Loops and used that for drums. I've recorded the guitar and bass tracks, and am thinking about possibly adding piano if it fits.
I decided to take Gethsemane to a more mellow and heartfelt area. I approached it as a song I would hear on the radio. At parts, it reminds me of a Destiny's Child song.
No vocals yet... but I'm going to more or less improvise 80% of the song as I go. Possibly thinking about harmonies and back up vocals...
Took a hint from Juraj Macko, and added another part so I can sing "Cup of Poison" both ways, and please myself, while still staying somewhat true to the original composition.
I lowered the pitch a step. I felt that the music just sounded better lower... the bass especially. And since it's so mellow, I thought a guy screaming at the top of his lungs didn't fit.
I cut out the High-G. Those parts will most likely be sung in falsetto, for style reasons. I feel a little dirty doing it... but you know... It happens.
I think I've pretty much covered everything. Let me know what you think.
