My aunt recently left me an oil painting by Robert Wesley Amick that she & her husband bought at a racetrack in California back in 1945. I'd seen the print of this painting many years ago. Definitely the one of Man O'War that you're asking about. Funny thing is, I was supposed to get the oil painting of Whirlaway that she had, but my mother & another aunt grabbed this one by mistake. Don't know what the painting of Whirlaway looked like--but I recognized "Big Red" as soon as I saw this painting. I know of two other oil paintings Amick did of MOW--must have been an easy seller for him back in the 1940's. Keep checking Ebay for another print. Good luck!!!
