Besides the fact there is ignorance about MOW shown here, there is simply no "evolution" in human sports as far as genetics is concerned.
Horses (and other animals) are bred for this specific purpose. It is possible (altho not necessarily so) that horses today are overall better than horses 50 or 100 or so years ago - because they are all concentrated on this purpose of racing; that is their purpose in life, and they are controlled in the breeding shed for that purpose of perpetuating a running-winning breed, too.
Humans are not and were not. Find me a human pro baseballer descended from Babe Ruth or Lou Gehrig. Find me a footballer descended from Red Grange. They aren't there. From that standpoint, humans are no different today than yesteryear. None of them ever were in a breeding program to make better players. Basically they all start w/the same thing. The big difference for humans is purely the technologies (ALL of them - drugs, surfaces, protection, shoes, etc, even methods which may or may not be better). If they have better skills, it's often either a matter of training or an illusion thanks to changing technologies - or even changing rules.
