I care very much to hear solid data about old horses! Esp. if it can compare to newer horses.
Anyway, it just occurred to me - were you accounting for the fact that the maiden as well as 1 or 2 other MOW races were on a straight? Instead of around a turn? His fastest times then are on straights.
