Here are the top 5 racehorses whom I think are overrated:
1. Ruffian - by far the most overrated racehorse of all-time, she never broke a track record, she tied 1 but did not break it, although she did run the fastest time for a 2 yr old at the Spa, but just gets to much credit for her accomplishments, never beat males, broke alot of stakes records, 8 I think, but gets way way way to much credit. She only raced a couple of times hardly enough to be even touted the best, let alone the top 50, she never beat males or older mares, she had alot of potential but never got to show it, we will never no, but as it stands no way does she deserve the title as the greatest racehorse of all-time.
2. Tom Fool - way to high on Top 100 Thoroughbred Book, 11 thats crazy, no way could he have beaten such greats as Swaps, Buckpasser, Bold Ruler, Nashua, Seabiscuit, John Henry, etc, etc, there is just no way, he was a good horse in a bad lot, he would not have beaten Native Dancer had they met, way too high on list.
3. Skip Away - beat Cigar, and well... thats about it, 32 in Top 100 thats way too high.
4. Damascus - gets credit for beating Buckpasser and Dr. Fager, when I think no way in the world he would have beaten the Doc had Damascus not used a rabbit, as John Nerud said of his great Dr. Fager when he lost to Damascus, " He was the only horse I had that ever could run. The only one. No one horse could ever beat him. It took two, they had to run an entry to beat him. He was the fastest horse who ever lived. "
5. Sysonby - 5 words: Good Horse In Bad Lot, won 14 of 15 races, but against who?
Well thats my opinion on the most overrated racehorses, well please write back about your opinion, remember this is in no way to offend anyone or any horse, these are just my opinions, and I'm not trying to start an argument. Thank you
