I disagree. If you look at the body type of First Samurai and Lost in the Fog they are built totally different. First Samurai is a huge horse about 17 hands and his pedigree is influenced by Distance Horses. His owner's picked him out as a two year old because he was built like a distance horse.
I think he can go two turns. His owner's indicated yesterday that he will race in the Bluegrass Stakes. First Samurai has only gone one turn because that was what Brother's picked for him because the BC Juvenile was only one turn. Flashy Bull did a great job but First Samurai did hold him off for a neck. Corinthian may have won but he did veer in his path & cut him off twice. FS. was trying to make another run at him and still finished quite strong as did Flashy Bull. You can't really say who would won if it had been a clean race unlike (Brother Dereks)! But when you get a "Green Horse" like Corinthian or Scrappy T that's an accident waiting to happen. I will admit that FS was faultering but that was as far as he has gone before. The only thing about FS that I don't like is the fact that he broke to the front there was no obviouse speed in the race so he had to break in front because he's a front runner. They need to hold him back early to reserve some strength for later on when he needs it.
People sayed the same thing about Afleet Alex but look at what he did last year won a 6 furlong sprint and then a 1/1/2 Belmont.
We can't still say but I think FS. has enough versitality to make him a very strong runner for the Kentucky Derby.
