Dan Hendricks I believe is making a huge mistake with running Brother Derek back in two weeks after the Derby in which he was forced to the outside so the mile and a quarter seemed longer than it was. Add to the fact that at some point during the race he threw a shoe. So for an extended period he was running without a shoe. Despite what some think I believe, and I know Afleet Alex will back me up Brother Derek is a nice horse if he wasn't that talented he wouldn't have finished 4th. At one point he was 14th in the back stretch if he wasn't a decent and game race horse he would have gave up but he fought as much as he could. Which is where I come to the heading of this post Dan Hendricks is insane. He never has had a talent like Brother Derek before, this is a classic case of being in over your head. Instead of what he should do, like what a real trainer like Todd Pletcher did last year with Flower Alley. After the Derby when I believe he finished 19th (that could be wrong). He didn't run him back in two weeks at the Preakness(thats not his M.O. anyway) and he didn't run him in the Belmont either. Instead he trained him up for the Jim Dandy and the Travers and what you know he finished a very respectable 2nd in the Breeder's Cup Classic to a great veteran in Saint Liam (horse of the year). That is what Dan Hendricks should be doing right now not jeopardizing Brother Derek's, at best his racing career, at worst his life (if he's to worn out from the Derby he might break down in the middle of the Preakness Saturday).Which is very said seeing as how for really the first time a grandson (from Alydar's sire line) is in the spot light. Usually it's by way of his daughters. And Hendricks is trying to formulate a rivalary between himself and Michael Matz and between there horses NO ONE IS BUYING IT HENDRICKS. Most of the info I got was from my cousin I talked to him today (he's at Pimlico today) he said he caught a glimpse of Brother Derek and told me he looks a little sluggish. Hendricks is way over his head with Brother Derek and unfortanetly Brother Derek might be the one who will pay for Hendricks incompetance (I looked that one up in the dictionary).
