I do have MORE than 30 years experience in horses and the shooting death of Cool Reception still gets to me 40 years leater. That was in the 1967 Belmont Stakes run at Aqueduct when a top Canadian filly named Cool Recption broke her leg in front of Damascus and was shot to death on the spot. The echo of the gun shot still rings in my ears 40 years later,and I was there when it happened.
