No line is with out it's faults, but Mr. Prospector has contributed a lot of speed, and not too much stamina alot of his sons have unsoundness issues and passed it on. Raise a Native Mr. Prospector's sire only raced 3 times in his entire career before he was retired at 2 years old due to injury, some suspect that is where Mr. Prospector got his unsoundness from, obviously Raise A Native did not pass it on to all of his sons as Alydar was very sound and durable and passed that on to his sons, particularly Easy Goer, who I think was most like Alydar. There are certain lines of Mr. Prospector that hold up better than others such as Crafty Prospector, Gulch and Kingmambo others that don't hold up well are Carson City, Afleet, Gone West, Seeking The Gold and Forty Niner. It's not just Mr. Prospector, it's the overall degradation of the American bred thoroughbred.
