George Washington was found to have been injured after his defeat in the Irish 2000 Guineas. Initially George was thought to have come out of his defeat at Curragh racecourse Saturday fine, but when he started his morning workout on Monday he was found to be slightly lame. Trainer Aidan O'Brien discovered that George had pulled some muscles over his hip, which has put his rematch with Araafa in the St. James Palace Stakes in doubt. "George Washington seemed fine to be fine when we walked him on Sunday." O'Brien said "He has pulled some muscles above his hip it will be a few day before we know how long it will be before we can run him again. Plans for him are on hold.".
