I'm new to your board, but I thought I'd chime in on this one. Since this is a MOW board, it's not surprising that most if not all of you think MOW was the greatest of the 4 horses mentioned. Be that as it may, if those 4 met in a race, I doubt MOW would win it. Based on their running styles, MOW and Seattle Slew would more than likely burn each other up, running eye-to-eye on the front end. That would set things up perfectly for either Citation or Secretariat (or both) to come from off the too fast pace, and blow by both Slew and MOW in the stretch. Don't know whether Citation or Secretariat would win, but I suspect Slew and MOW would be left running for 3rd and 4th place. In almost any race where there are two or more dominant speed horses, the expectation is that race will probably be won by a horse that comes from off the pace, unless all of the horses that come from off the pace are badly outclassed. Or at least that is my opinion.
