Suprises me that MOW board dosen`t know ...

Riddle did not miss manage Mows stud career. Would a man who refused a million dollars to sell MOW now deny him a good stud career? Riddle and Jeffords went to England in December 1920 to the Tattersales Sales and spent $21,000 for 5 mares to be included with Mows first Crop. Bloodstock expert William Alston chose these mares very carefully and they were from the foundation mares of England’s best breeding dynasty. MOW had the best mares of England and the United States in his stud career.
In his first five years MOW produced 29% stakes winner which is the HIGHEST first five years percentage for any American sire in the 20th century.
The problem with Riddle was he kept MOW exclusively for himself and Jeffords in the first three years of MOWs stud life. Spurned breeders were resentful and spread a Black Legend against Riddle for they were shut out form so great a racer and sire. Riddle was not well liked and it was easy to Black Ball him but it is not true. Riddle gave MOW a brilliant stud career.
