I fell in love with horses partly because of books by Margaret Henry and Walter Farley...and learned about Man O' War because of those books. I eventually worked and earned money and bought a horse, had a colt, had another one, and it built much character in me as a young woman. I never had horses since, but it meant a lot to me. I also wrote President Nixon in the 1970's to lobby to pass the Wild Horse Act and he signed it. My political activity started there with horses, and Man O' War - a horse - was a powerful inspiration to me then, and now...
