I am trying to be objective and only repeating a large sentiment of the times and that is what a lot of handicappers said then. Dr Fager can`t go fast fast and win. It is terribly true. No horseman ever said Damascus` wins were "cheap" against Dr. Fager and the 1 1/4 mile record stands today maybe because NYRA switched top races to Belmont Pk.
