General Assembly did win the 1979 Travers by 15. Pink Sheet over looked it!
I must have seen it since since the end of August is when I go to Saratoga every year. I confess I do not remember the margin of victory for General Assembly. I had bet Davonna Dale as she was KY OP FG filly winner and NY Tiara filly winner in 1979. It would have been two Travers wins in a row for John Veitch who won in 1978 with Alydar but on a foul by Affirmed. Vietch was not satisfied or happy with Alydar`s win in 1978 Travers since he wanted to beat Affirmed under the wire. Davonna Dale lost by half the Saratoga track it seemed.
