Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum owns both Discreet Cat and Bernardini.
Discreet Cat runs under Sheikh Mohammed's Godolphin banner, while Bernardini runs under his Darley Stable moniker.
Provided Bernardini makes the Classic, Discreet Cat will start in the Grade 1, $300,000 Cigar Mile at Aqueduct on Nov. 25 as has been the plan since his monster win in the Jerome Handicap on Oct. 1
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum has said he will have Discreet Cat run in the Breeders Cup Classic only if Bernardini can not make the race. Discreet Cat is well bred to run the distance of the Classic. It is not a question of which horse is better but simply a matter of not using Discreet Cat as a powerful rabbit against himself. It is a powerful one two punch to have Discreet Cat in one race and Bernardini in another race.
