I hate how you keep picking on me for liking a three year old, sure today he got beat but that's because he's still a premature three year old, what can you expect from one, to be honest the move that Javier gave him in the turn made me remember the premature move in the Derby that Rose did on Afleet Alex, that backstretch is really long and I figured Invasor would do well (because of his late kick), he's the only horse I didn't want winning but what can you do that's horse racing. To bad Bernardini didn't go out a winner!
Actually your right I wasn't around to see Secretariat or Dr. Fager because I'm only 16 but you need to realize that I'm not a partisan to Bernardini over my favorite horse Secretariat, because Bernardini is not as good as Secretariat and never will be, I just think it was exciting to see a good 3 year old this year do well against older horses and even though he lost the Classic by a length, I still think he's good enough to beat Invasor if he'd run next year, Invasor already had the advantage because he's older just like Saint Liam to Flower Alley last. Hey Bernardini is still a talented, beautiful three year old who had a heck of a year and I'm glad he was here to give me some memories and bring some popularity to the sport..
It's kind of erie that Pine Island looked so simliar to Ruffian, tall, black, with a small diamond bless her she was a tough filly and her injury was horrendous 4 fractures.
It certainly was the grave yard of favorites today only 2 won Dreaming of Anna and Ouija Board, Bernardini was the only favorite to place 2nd. And favoring to horses towards the rail, Bernardini certainly didn't do his best today but you can't always shake a horse like Invasor and It was nice to see two champs match up, today Invasor was just a little better!
