Aaahhhhh!!!!!!!*sipps tall glass of lemonade* I love this time of year, good ole' 1st Saturday in May is going to be interesting as always This years field is very talented and accomplished with talents like Curlin, Cowtown Cat, Street Sense, Hard Spun, Nobiz Like Shobiz, Scat Daddy, Circular Quay, Any Given Saturday, Dominican and Great Hunter plus developing talents that will blossom later on in the summer and fall like Sedgefield, Bwana Bull, Storm In May and Teuflesburg.
1. Sedgefield- English Channel's little bro M/L odds 50-1 understandable he's only raced on polytrack with ok results. He probably won't like the dirt will probably see him in the summer in the Grand Slam of Grass races.
2. Curlin- OVERRATED!. Don't get me wrong he's got talent and if the Derby was like the past 2 or 3 years he could probaby pull it off but, there is too much experience in the rest of the field. He's in the 2 post and we all know about the ole' Kentucky Cavalary Charge.
3. Zanjero- Not enough to get it done.
4. Storm In May- He'll run as hard as he can, he just won't win
5. Imawildandcrazyguy- How did he get in?
6. Cowtown Cat- He's a Stalker descent turn of foot he's got a good chance of puting together a good outing and get at least 3rd.
7. Street Sense- A little inconsistent at times but, when he is on he's phenomenal, great battling skills in the stretch. Big question can he break the curse. I say he has a good chance.
8. Hard Spun- Big athletic and quick. He likes to set the pace or near the pace in the Southwest the only race he's lost he was in mid-pack. Being in post 8 he has good breaking speed to get up on the lead early, stay there and have enough in the tank for a battle in the stretch.
9. Liquidity- Mediocre at best but, you never know.
10. Teuflesburg- all over the board sometimes he'll have a great race and then 3 bad one's. I think he's due he could win.
11. Bwana Bull- not going to be a factor.
12. Nobiz Like Shobiz- He like's to be on or near the pace. If he doesn't get pinched in the begining and gets a good spot roses for him.
13. Sam P- Alot of heart not enough talent.
14. Scat Daddy- I didn't expect him to stretch out in the Florida Derby but, somebody had to win that race, a whole lot of speed the only thing that helped him was he was the classiest one in the race. Probably won't be much of a factor.
15. Tiago- Giacomo's half brother if he's anything like him (one big win and done) then he's done.
16. Circular Quay- A closer with a great closing kick. Alot of experience if you don't count the Risen Star he's been excellent really good chance of winning.
17. Stormello- Obviously going to be the pace he might have a slim chance if Kent Desormeaux can slow Stormello down on the lead.
18. Any Given Saturday- Great turn of foot not a very good battler doesn't have any grit to dig in an battle. Still very good chance to win or place.
19. Dominican- Good closer peaking at the right time can speed up from the back and steal one.
20. Great Hunter- Talented but, bad racing luck if he can have good luck on Saturday he can win.
