Re: Street Sense vs. Hard Spun Preakness Stakes

by Horse Racing Fan

Ah My two picks for the Derby will most likely run 1, 2 in the Preakness with Chelokee third is my guess. These two are great and I'd thought for a while that Street Sense could be rid of the Juvenile Jinx. Not trying to tout my own horn but these two were very heavily questioned going into the Derby and no everyone is on Hard Spun's bandwagon again. It's ridiculous. I was and still am a bit more partial to Hard Spun before the Derby and was ecstatic he ran 2nd to the mighty Street Sense who is very scary at Churchill.

Like I said last year with Barbaro I thought the Preakness would be the hardest race for him and I think so for Street Sense. If he makes the same move he made in the Derby there is no catching him. He as a deadly late kick just like Afleet Alex. If Street Sense makes the same run Afleet Alex did 2 year's ago there will be no catching him. I don't know about Hard Spun, I think he'll do better and maybe Street Sense will win by a length or half length. If it comes to a battle again will go with Street Sense. He should of won the Bluegrass in which he lost by a nose but because of erratic race he didn't.

Don't get me wrong I think Street Sense is #1 of his generation at Churchill or not. This horse will run well in the Preakness. Haaha just think if they both run 1,2 in the Preakness we will be hearing the 1st Affirmed, Alydar speech we heard with Easy Goer and Sunday Silence in 1989.
