Re: Street Sense vs. Hard Spun Preakness Stakes

by Afleet Alex

My pick is Street Sense as well. He has proven himself in earlier races he can be a mid-pack horse and not a deep closer if he stays 5 lengths off the pace he should be just fine. He has teh most closing kick, and loves dogfights, something Hard Spun isn't proven at. Should be closer than the Derby but then again had Street Senes not been weaving in and out of horses, he would have won the Derby by 4 or 5. Everyone keeps saying he doesn't have enough speed, yet he wasn't far off the pace in the Tampa Bay Derby and still won by a head bob in his comeback race. Now he is ready and fit. Hard Spun will be tough, but Street Sense has just smashed two historic events, I hope he continues his workman-like tactics to a victory in the Preakness and dare I say it Belmont Stakes.... *knocks on wood*
