I found out about Man O' War when I was roughly your age. I was addicted to the "The Black Stallion" books by Walter Farley. He wrote a book about Man O' War and I was amazed by him through the story. It wasn't till a few years later that I found out that Man O' War was a real race horse and not a fictional creation from Walter Farley (like The Black was from his book series).
I don'tk now if you follow the sport of Thoroughbred Horse Racing as well but we also talk about the sport on this board as well. I can't speak for everyone else on this board, but where I live I have no one in the nighborhood who knows horseracing to be able to talk about the sport. It's mainly foot ball that rules here.
