I learned about him from the author Walter Farley when I was a little girl reading the Black Stallion series, he made a book about Big Red and put it within the list of books in the series even though it had nothing to do with the Black Stallion series. When I found out he was a real race horse I was shocked and wanted to learn everything I could about him.
