Response to Awesome engine!

Ausome72:
You are absolutely correct in the reasoning for not using the Funnelweb. I visited with Terry about this issue and his suggestion was to stay with the Torker. At some point I might try to fab up an air cleaner that drops down further (and angles back as well) to accomodate his intake. It is amazing how similar our 2 builds are! As you mentioned I do run the motor at the upper RPM bands when I'm at the road coarse events (always running between 4700 and 7600) so the broad torque band you mentioned is important to me when competing the 3-4 times per year when I do. By the way you will probably see the car in an upcoming issue of Mustang Monthly as Jerry Heasley (one of their photographers/writers) was at the Las Vegas event and got some track pictures as well as stills of the car. He called last week and said it would be in an upcoming issue. Yours car is outstanding! I've got a soft spot in my heart for the 71-73 cars and my wife currently has a 1973 351-2V Mustang convertable. I've owned a few other 71-73's in the past as well. I'm 6 ft. 5 inches tall so these later Mustangs "fit" me better. Have fun with your car (although it sounds like you already do)! Mike
