Well you were wondering about Notre Dame's chances of a National Championship in 2007? You might want to add 50 years to that statement or actually Notre Dame is never going to win a championship again unless they drop down to division II football. First of all Notre Dame football has not mattered to colloge football for the last 15 or so years. The not so Fighting Irish have been a mid major school at best, yes the BCS gives them a undeserved bid but that gig is up after this years debacle against ohio State. A national championship how about the Irish just win a freaking bowl game before they worry about anything else. It is amazing to me that Notre Dame fans dream of a National Championship game when they havent won a bowl game of any kind in over a decade and a half. You mentioned their defense as a question mark and thats a good question, because against good teams or even bad teams like Michigan State they proved they couldnt stop anybody. Heck even Stanford and BYU moved the ball aginst them with ease, their defense sucks and will be even worse next year. Also mentioned was their offense and its problems against Ohio State thats what happens when you play a good team. Its one thing to run up the score against Navy, Army and some of the other sorry school Notre Dame schedules every year. You can tell your friend Notre Dame will not contend for a championship, a BCS game or anything esle that matters. Notre Dame has not been a major power in collge football for some time, this well not chance next year or anytime soon.
