The Ducks

To all you haters who said the Oregon Ducks should be playing in the Fiesta Bowl, take a trip over to ESPN.com and check the scoreboard. If you're too lazy to do so I can end the suspense for you.... OREGON LOST TO OKLAHOMA! Yes, the Sooners, probably one of the biggest sets of underacheivers this season. Be happy that your former 6th ranked Ducks got off easy and didn't have to face ND or OSU because it would have been quite ugly. Also, be sure to tune for Notre Dame's stomping of the Buckeyes, its going to be a beatdown to remember and I am anxious to see just how much you haters complain about how the refs favored ND and how they still shouldn't have been playing in a game that they are going to win quite handily.

To all you Domers who said that Notre Dame belonged in the Fiesta Bowl, take a trip over to ESPN.com and check the scoreboard. If you're too lazy to do so I can end the suspense for you.... NOTRE DAME LOST TO OHIO STATE! Yes, the Fighting Irish are probably the most overrated team this season. Be happy that your former 6th ranked Irish got off easy and didn't have to face the Oregon Ducks because it would have been quite ugly.

Hey Brendan, what happened to Notre Dame's stomping of the Buckeyes? I thought it was going to be a beatdown to remember.

Now, I am anxious to see just how much you Domers complain about how the refs favored Ohio State.

Ha ha!! Oklahoma would have blown out the Irish. Oklahoma had the toughest schedule in the country and played half the season without their star running back. Had Peterson been around all season, Oklahoma would have been in the hunt for a BCS bowl bid, most likely.

Oh, and the Ducks were one 3rd string QB pass 6 inches higher from winning that game. We can't say the same for the Irish. They were about two careless Ohio St. mistakes (mistakes not forced by the ND defense) from being blown out by four touchdowns. At least Oregon had a CHANCE to win.

I wonder if that guy will ever come back on this message board. Notre Dame beat OSU handily, alright! God, I hate the Irish and their fans.

He's Back

January 5 2006, 11:14 PM

You wondered if I would ever be back? Do you think I'm going to lay back and let people try to get away with posting outrageously stupid messages about how Oklahoma would beat the Irish...? ABSOLUTELY NOT. In order to post a message on this site one needs to either hate or love Notre Dame and also have knowledge about the sport of college football. The fact that you said the Sooners would beat the Irish is outrageous. The Big 12 had one of their worst years ever this season and it is evident when looking at how badly Texas destroyed every single team they were matched up against. I can't decide if Oklahoma was worse than Oregon this year but one thing I am sure of is that they were both pretty fortunate to not have to run into the Irish. Adrian Peterson is a bum, the only reason why he had any success last year is because the Sooners had an outstanding O-line and a quarterback that could actually throw the ball into the air which forced teams to shift their focus to White and the passing game. BCS spots are reserved for deserving teams like the Irish, not teams like Oklahoma who whine about how they would have gotten a bid if their "star" running back wasn't hurt all year and teams like Oregon who get blown out by the only real competition in their conference. ND may have let one slip by to OSU, but they proved this year that they have finally come back from years of mediocrity and are ready to contend for the national title again. I know everyone loves my predictions so I've cooked up a couple of possible scenarios for next season:

If Vince Young stays at Texas.... ND over Texas in the Fiesta Bowl
IF Vince Young declares for the draft... ND over it doesn't really matter at all because they will stomp on any team in the Fiesta Bowl

"If Vince Young stays at Texas.... ND over Texas in the Fiesta Bowl

Keep dreaming buddy. Notre Dame just showed us they can beat Stanford (just barely), BYU, and Navy, but still cant compete against top-10 programs.

Even if Notre Dame goes 12-0 or 11-1 with their cream puff 2006 schedule I doubt they would get an invitation to the Fiesta Bowl. They may have the wins but they won't be quality wins and they will be hurt by strength of schedule. North Carolina? Stanford? Army? Navy? Air Force? Give me a break!!!

Nice Predection

January 5 2006, 3:01 PM

Hey good predection there Nosterdamus. Yeah Norte Dame was all over Ohio State, giving them a beat down to remeber. When your Notre Dame fans wake up and pull your heads out of your crap cave, you will realize the your football team sucks. Nothing will change next year eitheir, yes you continute to pick up wins by scheduling Navy, Air Force, and Army. Those schools have more important tasks at hand, such as preparing officers to protect our countyrs freedom. Norte Dame on the other hand chooses not to join a conference because they will have to play a harder schedul and cant pick up wins against cream puff teams. It still doesnt matter, next year there will not be a BCS bid, everybody knows what kind of team Norte Dame is, and the team will only be worse next year. Wake up and face the reality Domers your team is not a national power, and has not been for the last 15 years. Every five or six years ND start of a season with 6 or 7 wins and everybodys talks about a revival back to the glory days(see 1994 team got waxed by Oregon State, or Ty Willinhagms first season) then it all comes crashing down when you paly a good team. Notre Dame is nothing more than a mid major team trying to keep wup with the big boys of collge football. So take your Lou Holtz, Johnny Lujack, Rocket Ishmail, and your little treasure troll of a mascot and cram it in your cakehole. Because when it comes time for Norte Dame football to do their talking on the field, well they dont have much to say as evidenced by their pathetic performances in the bowl games the last 15 years. Just for the record I thought the movie Rudy sucked to, jsut like your football team.

2006

January 9 2006, 12:31 AM

Notre Dame's schedule for 2006 is tougher than 95 percent of every other school in the country, man. Yeah, so what, they play the academies for the sake of tradition. Take a look at some of their other games: at Georgia Tech, Michigan, Penn State, UCLA, and at USC. I would hardly call any of those programs "creampuffs", my friend and you'd just be lying to yourself if you disagreed with me. One more thing, what do you have against Rudy man? His story is one of the greatest in the history of American sports.

Your Crazy

January 11 2006, 3:36 PM

I would be lying if I agreed with you at all. Michigan, Georgia tech and Ucla equals a tough schedule? Ucla defense is softer than wet toilet paper, and they lost their best player in RB Maurice Drew. Georgia Tech showed how god there team was by getting absolutley hammered by Utah. However, Georgia Tech will beat you next year, because they have one think Norte Dame lacks team speed. Michigan also is a team that was way overated and finshed a very disapointing season and remains a question mark for how good they will be next year. Give me a break you play the service acadamies for traditions skae, you play them becasue thats were you can pick up a win. You avoid team that have great speed like the plauge because your team has none, go play Miami, FSU, or Florida, even when those schools are down they will still demolish the fraud of a program that is known as Notre Dame. Besides your easy schedule next year you have nothing to look forward to next year. Are you just a Norte Dame football fan? Cause their basketball team sucks and has been severly overated in the past and just cant seem to win against good teams. Sounds very similar to the football team. Again Notre Dame has a soft schedule, they will win some games then play a better team and get smoked. Yes Rudy does suck, that actors best work was in "Gooines" from there it was all down hiil. The real Rudy looks like midget that has been hung over his entire life, kinda like the crowd at a Notre Dame game.

You're Beyond Crazy

January 16 2006, 2:09 AM

Come on, man, this site is dedicated to Notre Dame football, not basketball. I can see that you clearly must have run out of witty metaphors like UCLA's defense being "softer than wet toilet paper" (brilliance!) and now have to try and get your kicks by bashing ND basketball. ND returns 16 starters next year against one of the toughest schedules in the nation. Go ahead and bring up the academies again but let me remind you that EVERYONE PLAYS A FEW BAD TEAMS EVERY SEASON. The rest of Notre Dame's schedule more than makes up for the few bad teams that they scheduled. It took Charlie Weis only one season that was limited by his NFL commitments (i.e. picking up his third piece of super bowl bling, hows that for credentials?) to turn the program around so imagine what this team is going to be like next season... And another thing, have you ever even been to a game at Notre Dame Stadium? It is one of the greatest environments for a game on any sporting level and I can assure you that there aren't any hung over midgets in attendance, ever.
