Want to engage in a little discussion on whether CPS teams can compete for the state championship. The Morgan Park Mustangs are making believers out of a lot of nay sayers. They had a great year and lost last week to DGN. Interesting enough the game was tied 7-7 at the half with the Mustangs all but shutting down DGN QB Edwards. The Mustangs All-State Middle Lineback (Byron Miles) had a virus and did not return for the second half. Much to their credit, DGN took full advantage of this and ran hard up the middle. MP will be returning ~13-16 of its starting players including the sophmore QB who set a state (publid) record for most passing yards against Batavia.

I think that MP will be the first CPS team to compete for a state championship in the coming years. They have shown that you cannot ignore the City Schools.

I can't wait until next year!

Good luck to the remaing teams in 7A.
