We are heading to Lake Erie (from North central Ind.)the first part of the week for walleye fishing. How is the fishing in the Huron area? Or is the western basin better this time of the year?
Reel time, anxious to know how you did on the trip. I am from north judson (north central indiana) myself, and am planning on my annual trip to huron myself. My email addy is ders1_2000@yahoo.com Good luck
indiana, give me a call before you come, or when you get in the area and i will fill you in on whats going on here. it has been decent, but a lot depends on where you go. it has been scattered, and the fish are moving a loy. to help make matters worse today it is rough out there. the eyes are not coming as fast as they were a few days ago, but some are being taken at the sandbar. here are a few numbers that have been working. 33/14, 31/15,34/14.5 also further west the 33.5/19 was good for a couple of days. north of ruggles was spotty but some were being taken in water depths from 33 to 40 foot of water. if you find some active fish be sure to stay with them. good luck and good fishin.
Den
Den, thanks for the numbers and info. I had the pleasure of meeting you last year at the shop, and the numbers you gave us were right on. I put a couple of those fish on the wall, a 31.5 and a 30 incher, and still brought home plenty of fillets. I,m probably looking at coming that way the 1st or 2nd week of sept, when some bigger fish head towards huron. I,ll be watching all the posts closely. Hopin to get in on the crank bite by then. Thanks again....Andy
