Best watering holes from Marblehead to Vermilion?

Ok Guys and Gals, Where is the best bar/grill for those days when you just don't want to fight the waves, other than Scoutin Sam's campsite? Food, service, price, comarodery (spelling), atmosphere. I tend to hit the Crew's nest in lakeside a little too often (usually feel like I've been on the water all day, get those sea legs under you), but absolutely love Nate's over by Walmart (great food and fish mounts). Does anybody know if Nate's has finished their new building and where it is located? I imagine Freebyrd is going to tell me the Roundhouse for what did he call it? Split tail snapper? I'm just a little wound up waiting for the season to start.

I think that Den's coffee is the best from Vermilion to Marblehead.

Jay,
Never heard of the Crew's nest - unless you mean the Crow's Nest next to Anchors Away? I like the Crows Nest. Crabby Joes at Anchors Away isn't bad either - I usually know a face or three in there.

In Port Clinton on Lakeshore Drive, just west of the drawbridge they opened up a Mr. Eds - attached to a hotel. Nice Sports Bar type place.

Tough to beat Nates for good food in the PC / Catawba area. I usually go there for dinner at least once or twice a month. I didn't realize they were building a new location??

Catawba Inn and The Point - are decent spots to stop for a chilly one but just bar food.

Angry Trout on the East Side of the Bay Bridge has good seafood and decent Steaks. Take the exit off of route 2 for 269 south, but head North up towards Margarittaville (who should be forced to change their name as they have the worst Margarittas I've ever tried).

In Sandusky, the Damons on the water is a nice place to take the boat for dinner.

Huron - has to be JP's Downunder at the Boat Basin - at least in the fall.

Vermillion has the Red Clay on the water that is good.

Lorain - Jackalope is excellent - on the water at Spitzers Lakeside Marina.

As far as the islands - Put In Bay is definitley the home to the finest Big Breasted Split Tail Snapper in Ohio - I like the Boardwalk (Lobster Bisque) for dinner and take your pick between Mr Eds, and Roundhouse for "dessert!"

I'd like to do a trip or two for dinner over to Kelleys Island this year - Casino and/or Pumphouse.

Damn - after typing this, I'm not sure if I'm more HUNGRY or THIRSTY?!?! Sounds like we need to plan a rendevous at some of these places this season.

Yea, I meant crow's nest. A lot of nice evenings spent there. been to the jackalope in Lorain, lost a prop that day, spent the night, girlfriend walked straight into the wall, one of those nights, great place!..Put-in-bay in the old days, getting a little slow to catch those snappers anymore. Been wanting to do Kelly's, never have, love to meet up with you sometime. I was told last fall while sipping a martini or two at Nate's that they were moving into a new facility. Does anybody know the facts about Nate's? Absolutely the best food in the area. How about Wee Willy's? I can't remember much more than the name....DUH. Cute waitress!!

Huron has "The Rivers Edge" (?) JP's Down Under, and go under the bridge, there is Huron Lagoons Marina. This is where I purchase my fuel. They have o.k. food and cold beer. Their food taste great when the fish are not hungey and all you have on the boat is a sandwich from them. They also have some good breakfast stuff.
If you want the best, travel 2 miles down the river to my place. Give me a 1/2 hour notice and I will run to town and get supplies. I will have to get some "meat" as well. especially if you want fish. Since you guys can't catch them, and all I catch/SNAG is carp and sheephead. HE-HE-HE.
