Den, have you been out lately? Is there any tournaments before the Grand national walleye cup the first of October?

last week

September 12 2005, 8:27 AM

I was out one day last week. we pulled quite a few eyes, but there wasnt any real big fish. we were at the 37/18 lines trolling with dipsys and spoons. There have been some real good fish taken in the last few days, but there also are loads of the smaller ones trying to get the lures and baits first. Spoons , cranks, and harnesses have all been working, but the spoon bite seems to be better right now. The water temp is coming down, so the bite is also getting better. I will be posting as the bite improves in the area. the better speeds for trolling seems to be around 2.5 to 3mph (except for the harnesses-1.3 to 1.5 or slower) good luck and good fishin.

upcoming tourneys

There are 2 tourneys before the GNWC event. The Hawg Fest tourney is Sept 24th http://www.huronhawgfest.com and the boosters tourney is the week after that. http://wbsa.us/booster_tourney.html They are both open tourneys with room for more. The Hawg Fest is at 30 teams preregistered and we expect 50-70 teams.

Too much pressure?

Are the fish going to get spooky and be hard to catch having three tournaments in a row? Or do you continually have new fish migrating in?

Spooky

I dont think that the fish will be spooky because of the pressure. actually it wont be any more pressure than a normal weekend. Also there is a constantly rotating number of migrating fish that are going through here in the fall. Each day there are more being caught now, as some are coming into the area . Good luck and good fishin.
