The Facts

There were 81,000 Henry Js produced in 1951. About half were K513s (4 cyl models) and about half were K514s (6 cyl models.) Yours is not an early one at all since K513 serial numbers range from K513-001001 - K513-039000. This puts yours just under the halfway point in the model year. Should not effect the value at all, just some facts.

I'am not trying to bloat the price man.the fact Is I have a steel car In between model years changes thats priced for nothing considering that a plastic car Is $21,750 as a starting price.I think I'am giving my car away at 4k with clear title.

I did not intend to sound as though I was accusing you of bloating the price. I have not seen the car so I really wouldn't know. I was just stating some little known facts about these unique cars and then clarifying that these facts probably have no effect on the value of any particular Henry J. I did not mean it as a criticism of yours. Best of luck finding it a home.

The fact that it has a trunk lid and no glove box does not make it rare at all. That just makes it a 1951 which was produced sometime after December 1950. No 1951 Henry Js had gloveboxes originally (although some restorers have added them to 1951 cars) and they were not optional on 1951 models. Trunklids became optional on 1951 models (both Deluxe and Standard) in December 1950 (the 1951 Henry J went on sale Sept 28, 1950). Glove boxes were not introduced on the Henry J till the 1952 Corsair and Corsair Deluxe models and were standard equipment from that point on. The Henry J shop manual, parts manual, owner's manual, several factory bulletins and KF Factory Service bulletin 323 all confirm this. If your car is a 1951 four cylinder model the body tag under "AG" will say either 10 or 17 indicating the car was equipped with a trunk lid and folding rear seat.
