I'm just curious as to where these bulbs are made. Are all Philips D2 bulbs made in Germany? Does Philips have plants in other countries to make these bulbs in order to reduce costs?

Thanks

The genuine non-cloned Philips D2 bulb is made in Aachen, Germany. It is the only factory in the world. It's possible to find fakes marked similarly. That's why its important to buy these bulbs from reputable sources.

Speaking of the D2S bulbs, do any of you have experiences with the 6000K Philips bulbs? I think they are called Ultinon or something like that... From pictures, they look really purple to me and I wonder how they are real life?

Thanks for your response.

Does that go for both the 4100k and 6000k bulbs?

Yes it does. Believe me, there are plenty of wanna be philips bulbs out there. I would recommend HId-online of autolamps as a good source for these bulbs. You are guaranteed genuine philips products, and brand new. Pricey, yes, but still below what an OEM bulb costs at the car dealer.
