Hey,I amvery enthused that so many people are interested in xenon conversion/retrofitting. I have a big problem. My suv has the 9004 light system. This is making it very hard to even consider converting it. I have purchased a conversion kit that comes with german ballasts, wiring, harness.I havent installed yet. I have heard that there is a problem installing this in my system because there is a huge concentration of light within the center which produces an omen of light. The kit I have are for a reflector system. I have to purchase some d2r bulbs and then I will be on the road to installing the product. I was wondering, though how do I stop the heavy center concentration and actually obtain true xenon lighting.

I was considering retrofitting but I was told the conversion is a lot easier for the same lighting. Which by assumption cant possibly be true. If I cant get rid of the heavy concentration. I am considering purchasing X5 projectors!!

Help!!!

The Trooper is sold overseas (i.e., Germany), so e-code headlights (H4) are available for your vehicle, somewhere. The problem is sourcing them.

No, the e-code headlights would be H4; Germany (and other countries that are serious about automotive night lighting) won't allow the "DOT-compliant" 9004/HB1 bulbs & fixtures onto their roads, due to; too weak a light and a lousy beam pattern, combined with excessive glare to oncoming traffic. What I'm saying is, that if you want to convert your lights with a bulb/ballast "kit", don't bother with trying to make it work with a 9004 setup. Get e-code reflectors or OEM projectors from some other car, and then do the conversion.

I was riding in my friends isuzu rodeo last night at 3 am and the beam pattern on that car is extremely good for reflectors. It had a nice sharp cutoff line with little light straying above it. I am curious to see how the housing will handle a simple plug and play HID system because I was HIGHLY impressed by the beam pattern.

That's what I thought as well with my car (I have a Volvo C70). I installed E-code lenses on my car and the beam pattern as as sharp as can be. I thought "great! slap on a kit and I'm done with my HID adventures" As soon as I added the kit, the beam pattern is crap, my cutoff is all blurry, it's just a mess.
I'm currently trying to add A6 projectors into my housing. We'll see what happens.
