Here they are guys, complete with H9 Projectors and Philips 4100K D2S. The front glass lenses of the projectors have been replaced by Halo rings... Yep, I got Halos finally...
I'm the guy who doesn't like Hella 90mms. I know we probably didn't hit it off that well in the forum, but I am impressed, probably one of the nicest ones in the forum. That is definitely an excellent job, two thumbs up from all the Honda people.
Hey Milan,
Sorry, I'm too busy these days to sit and chat for too long, but I just wanted to say, WOW! That turned out really clean looking. It makes your car look like a night-prowling animal of some type in your night shot! Absolutely MEAN looking! Maybe someday I'll too, go for the Angle/Demon eye look? Right now, I got Terminator II Eyes in mine (red, blue, or both), which is LED light eminating out of the projector lense itself (kinda similar, but way different looking). Anyways, keep up the really good work,
Later,
Josch
That does look awesome Milan. I'm getting to the point in my never-ending project when it's performing awesome, but you have gotten to the point of performance, and Sweet looks!
Mine look horrible, but function decent. Can't even start on how damn good yours look.
Nice CSVT also! Have you done any performance mods? The aesthetic mods look really nice.
which part of the headlamp did you mount the projectors to? looks like on the old reflectors, but i can't tell. also how did you set it up so you can aim them after you sealed the lamps?
great result and much better pic this time Milan. I have been wondering too how you resolved the induvidual elements aiming capability. Are they totally sealed, partially or not sealed at all in the back. After having seen 15 picturs from the front, I cannot help being very curios how it looks from the rear.
He slammed the car, wanted a straight cut off, that's what he said over at CEG. . .beautifully done, I love the H9 projectors, totally eliminates the return wire shadow and projects so well. . .nice job Milan!!!!!
The projectors are built into the housing, through the reflectors...
Aiming is achieved by preaiming the projectors during install. Once the finished lights are put onto the car, very minimal adjustment is needed. I would estimate about + - 1/8 inch movement is sometimes needed.
The lights you see, I aimed so correctly that the second I put them on and bolted them, THERE WAS NO ADJUSTMENT NEEDED! I was surprised at how well they turned out...
As Suneil mentioned, I wanted a flat cut-off due to my car being lowered so much. Had I kept the original Z cut-off, I would have huge problems with aiming. The driver's side cut-off would fall way too short, which would necessitate raising the headlights higher to compensate the loss of light projection.
Well, once you raise the headlights, the right flare, already borderline high, would be even higher, and thus would produce intolerable stray light...
The only way to eliminate these problems was to shave the shields and produce a flat cut-off. And as you see, it looks pretty damn good!
My favorite part is driving on a really dark road. It is so cool to see the bottom half snow white, while everything above the razor sharp cut-off is totally dark.
I should mention that I also switched the H9 Fresnel Lenses with the H7 clear ones, giving me a much crisper cut-off and more down the road illumination. However, the angle of the beam is somewhat less than with the Fresnel lenses. All in all, I like the clear ones much better.
Lastly, I have bent the shields, producing a thick Indiglo colored band above cut-off. And since the front glass lenses are history, the blue band gets projected on the road, and is not filtered out by the front lenses... Yet another advantage of these lights.
