I want to use my silvervision 1156 bulbs in my 1157 socket. Is it possible to make this work? I searched the faq but was unable to find anything.

Thanks for any tips or suggestions

An 1156 (single filament) will fit into an 1157 (dual filament) socket. You'll just lose the parking light function, if it's mounted in the front.

Is it really that easy ?

The bulb did not fit the first time so I figured
that I needed to cut the tabs. Guess not. I will give it another try tonight

thanks

Passat774,
If you have "double ears" on your 1156, you may have to file/grind one off; Some 1156 bulbs don't have both ears, but the diameter & length of 1156/1157 should be the same, with the 1157 having double contacts on the base of the bulb.
