Hi Ed! Did you know that NHTSA does not regulate vehicle owners?

I'm sure you do. But maybe others do not. NHTSA regulates motor vehicle and motor vehicle equipment manufacturers, importers, distributors, dealers, retailers, and businesses that repair, service or modify vehicles or motor vehicle equipment.

P.S. but the states do, and often reference the federal standards that NHTSA uses

Caveat Emptor.

For recalled HID conversions select: RM RACING (also see: http://dmses.dot.gov/docimages/p69/159492.pdf http://dmses.dot.gov/docimages/p69/159493.pdf http://dmses.dot.gov/docimages/p69/159496.pdf http://dmses.dot.gov/docimages/p69/159497.pdf )

There is an open compliance investigation on Astex for HID conversions. See the monthly compliance status reports: http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/testing/comply/monthly/

for recalled headlamp bulbs select: PHOENIX AMERICA

Should anyone have complaints about any automotive products where safety is concerned, feel free to visit: http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/ivoq/

Yes Richard, I do know that. Good thing too, or I'd be spending my remaining days in Leavenworth, considering the lighting that I have on several of my vehicles. On that subject, my AFS project is about to hit the road, with swiveling Hella H9 (not HID) projectors and speed-sensitive variable-intensity cornering lights.
