| Well, as some of you may know, I post a while back about the damaged headlight lens I have. Well, its not really damaged, just that I believe the clear protection is peeling off, therefore UV light will be able to easily damage the lens and inside components to the headlight.
Just wondering if using X-Pel headlight protection will be a good alternative to reapplying urethene clear top coat (Du Pont, Duratuff, etc). |

X-pel (3M vinyl film) would be a good anti scratch layer. But it does not stop UV light. |

Aw man, I was under the impression that it was, or atleast somewhat. On their website, the spec's for the headlight protection says something about UV and said less than 10% discoloration or something like that. Hmm, I'll try it, but looks like I'm still going to have to go for a more permanent solution. Tried my local marine/boating store since they carry Awl Grip, unfortunetly, they only have them in the gallons, which is way out of my price range to spend on just clear coat. | |
