Hi:
I just scrached my headlight on my 96 Integra, is there any way i can remove the scrach? I heard that sanding the lense smooth, then painting a coat of clear coat on will help, is that true? Any help is greatly appreciated! FANKS!
I had tried to use Meguiar Wax,Meguiar Plastic polish(kind of worked but still not good enough),GT88 scartch remover(useless),and spraying on a clear coat finish(useless).
I don't know if there are any aquarium stores around, but where can i buy Nu-Life as describe in your link?
and also, will cutting the front lense off and putting on a sheet of Lexan work??
Thanks!!!
How deep is your scratch? Note that if it is beyond a certain depth, you have sand down the rest to the same hight and then make plastic clear agian. That is a big job. Same thing with attaching a piece of Lexan-MR10 (optical grade). I would check what a new headlight is, or alternatively check out ebay for a week or two and and it should show up. I do see them from time to time.
Compare that price to value of polishers/vaxes and time.
The scratch is make by using 3M water sand paper no. 400, since this is what i do in shop to smooth out car surfaces, so i did this to the lense also. So the whole front lense feels flat and smooth, but it is very blurry with lots of marks. I initially did this to see if i can spray on a clear coat i can get a shinier look front lense, but it didn't, because the clear coat cracked. So now i just need to know where i can buy the materials needed to fix it up(urethane clear coat, plastic polish,Nu-Life,...etc). Anything that can fix the front lense will be good. Thanks!!!
