Would the light output be similar if I use d2r bulbs with eom HID reflectors, as opposed to using the same bulbs with eom HID projectors such as the audi a6? Thanks.

You would want to use D2R with reflector not projector.

In OEM set ups, D2S is used with projectors....D2R is used with reflectors, which is why they have the paint strips on them to reduce glare and yellow light in relectors in conjunction with an underbelly shield.

You can always buff off the plating on the D2R and put the D2S notch in the base. I think I used 600 grit wet sand paper and a dremel polish for mine. They're work great so far. I've truely abused them, but kept off the oils and lint etc.
