Ok, El Hefe and I have been discussing with these guys in the Civic forum and they refuse to believe OEM is 4100k only......even to the point some guy said 8000k was OEM in some cars .........well I made light of the situation when Hefe asked what are these magical OEM 8000k kits this guy keeps talking about........well they gotta be these:

I should advertise these on my Mazda forum. There are a lot of people shoving rebased capsules into their DOT 9004 housings and love it to death. Can't convince them otherwise. I bet they will love the 25000K ones

What is the link to the mazda forums, i would love to go on there and help support the anti-retrofit cause. I am pretty well-known on the NISSAN forums since I have been a part of the 240SX community for over 6 years, and STILL there are people who disagree and think retrofit grade HID kits are "acceptable." People are finally starting to wisen up, well, except for the folks on the NSX forums.. they are SOOO misinformed its rediculous.

I dont get it, its as if people think we're just talking out of our asses. Most of the people on these lighting forums take apart headlights, projectors, and tinker with tons of HID kits on a day-to-day basis.. atleast I do. What can you do..

there's alot of mis-information out there regarding the hid conversion kits. a very typical picture is lining up the center of the arc capsule and the filament of the halogen counter part. people naturally think it would be ok to use. i use to think along the same line until i ran into this forum. after much reading here... i've learnt from you guys.

you know what's the easiest way to convince them? ask them to line up against a bimmer/audi with hid. compare the wall beam pattern, down the road illumination, and oncoming traffic glare level. they will usually come around after that. there's just no comparison to the OE hid headlight assembly.

Hey Old S13,

Here is the last thread that I remember:
http://www.mx-3.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=2&t=006088

There were a few HID Kits specific threads in the past, but that was long ago. There also is a long thread on developing new projector headlights, nid-summer in the Appearance section.

Here is a link to Canadian Protege Club Forum:
http://www.mpsport.net/forums/

Here is a forum for Ford Probe:
http://www.probetalk.com/

Here is a forum for Mazda Mx-6:
http://www.mx6.com/forums/index.php

And the one for Mazda Mx-3:
http://www.mx-3.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi

I am sure there is one for Rx-7, but I have not gone there, and there is also Miata.net

Thanks for your support. As soon as I have some interesting thread about HID, I will post it here. I am just waiting to finish my lights and then I will post on my car's forum.

Cheers.

Taras, I'm planning on comming down sometime this month for a day.

I'll let you know when, for sure.

As far as posting on here, they're more critical than the MX-3 forum! In a good way!

They're not "OEM looking" enough to be accepted here I think.

I'm working on that though, but it's taking time and money....money I don't have right now.....damn my obsession with lighting!!! :D
