OK, here are my headlights.

They are 95% done.

If you have comments other than constructive criticism in a positive way, then keep it to yourselfs. I mean it.

My Headlights

And yes, I KNOW they are not "OEM like" enough for you people, but they work, and for now that's all I care about.

I'm still working on it, and this was my first try.

Thanks.

Hey man.....you gotta do what you gotta do. I'm happy to see someone able to sand their lense clear...can you give some specifics on how you did that?

This is on a Maxda Miata right?

Yeah, my headlights have not turned out exactly the way I wanted them, but the bi-xenon modules are soo HUGE - especially WITH the igniter/bulb holder - that it really messed up my design ideas and forced me to just deal with what I had.

It's going good though and my next set should turn out much better.

The sanding turned out really well, and if it wasn't for the UV stained lenses they would have been clear. They were too yellow to even be worth it, but I had to deal with those.

I wet sanded them. Every grit I used was wet sanded and I just started at 80, then 150, 220, 300, 410, 600, 800, and then 1500.

I spent about 20 mins on each one. A little over-kill, but I had the time and I was REALLY bored. You should expect some blisters though!!!

After that, I wiped them off, and polished them with a plastic polish.

Cool. cool. Mazda Miata right?

You didn't consider buying a new set of headlamps to work with?

No, It's a 1992 Mazda MX-3.

New headlights would have cost me about $800, so that was out of the question.

I'm trying to find another set of used headlights, but they're a little hard to come by.

here's a quick question.. are you keeping the duct tape as a permenant solution? it looks like it's touching the projector itself... it might not be safe, temperature wise i mean.
otherwise, looks great!!

hey man...i feel your pain with working with the bi-xenon proj. I have the same exact one in my 98 Accord. I did alot of cutting to the backside of the aftermarket proj. headlights to get them to fit. Then when I did get them to fit, I couldn't aim them..! Can't wait to see them with the new dual proj.

The duct tape on the back isn't going to stay there.

It was just there because it's watertight for now until I finish them off.

I've been using them for a little while now and the temperature hasn't affected the tape, yet.....
