i was wondering, my friend bought the newer Hellas ballast where the ignitor is on the base of the bulb? The connectors from the ballast have the connector going to the ignitor and another seperate wire with a space connector. Anyone know what the spade connector is for??? Thanks!

Connects to a tab on the projector itself.

Do you know what it's used for? And what projectors currently use the bulb-2-ignitor type ignitor???

Latest models of the Hella Bi-Xenon unit, and maybe the newest low beam xenon unit too.

That's it as far as I could find out.

anyone have a good picture?

Its probably a new development of the separate ground wire that was hooked up to the projector on some earlier Hella models. Its a safety thing. If ground portion of the high voltage wire fails inside headlamp, the initial spark will go to ground and not through the technician trying to figure out why bulb doesnt lit up.....

I have a picture of the tab on the projector.

I'll post it some time tonight.

The second picture down from the top shows you the tab.
