Hey, to all guys interested in A6 ECE! I've just retrofitted the Audi A6 ECE projectors w/ a brand new set of projector headlights. Just wondering if you wanted to see my pics and probable small avi video clips of the cutoff and overall project process. I didn't oven heat or took the headlight apart. What I did was simply cutoff the back w/ a dremel and swap projectors. It took me about 3 hours for the whole thing to be done + 15 minute installation including taking out and putting back in my headlights. Anyways, the cutoff on the ECE is much much more sharper than my A6 DOT's. There is a lot of blue and violet at the cutoff line and about 3/4 inch of blue violet cutoff band. On my DOT, I had a very small amount of blue, and mostly pink and yellowish/white. not even a quarter inch of blue. This time, I am absolutely satisfied w/ my A6 ECE retrofit. The beam is very sharp which creates a very very aggressive flickering of super deep blue and violet that I have never seen before. THe flickering is a lot more aggressive than the S2000. Also, the A6 ECE has a much deeper blue and violet which makes the S2000 and the new 2004 BMW 7 series less noticeable in the crowd. Actually the light output on the A6 DOT and A6 ECE is much brighter on the floor and covers a far lot wider surface area than S2000, Acura MDX Lexus ES300, and Lexus IS3000which I compared side by side driving up the mountains in complete darkness. THe Audi A6 DOT and ECE light output hogs up the S2000's road and beyond; it actually over laps into first lane all the ways to third lane and the trees/sidewalk w/out overwhelming incoming drivers. Anyways, I also pushed the shield of the projector towards the reflector which I heard in the automotive lighting forum that it will create a deeper blue. I did that to my passenger side, and now it's so super deep blue that I think it's way beyond the blue that I wanted. Too damn blue! I can't get it back to the correct medium blue color. Oh well, just leave it alone.I'm kind of afraid that I'll get pulled over by a cop for having such an intense deep police blue. My driver side is a medium blue but more violet to it. I think that is the way it's suppose to be if I don't push the shield towards the reflector. Oh yeah, I compared my friends 2004 M3 headlights versus my A6 ECE, mines is a lot more pinkish purple when I put my hands in front of the headlight. The M3 is sort of yellow and white. But over all, the A6 ECE gives a much brighter light output and surface cover area than M3. My friend was like damn! What Kelvins are those? 7000K?? I was like no....they are factory Audi A6 DOT Hella ballast w/ D2S Osram bulbs. My light outout when I put my hands in front is suppose to shine yellow while just looking close-up to the projectors lens looks pink. Anyways, I can't wait to post my 99 Accord A6 ECE completed project on the Forums. Oh yeah I just got my Wings West W-type body kit too, so everything is done at the right time. YAY!!!! I get a lot of heads turned driving in Northern California, especially people in BMW and audi. They think it's an Audi or BMW w/ euro spec light but it's not. It's just an Accord. lol. I guess all that $5000 and 5 years worth of experimenting paid off. I guess I won't need Philips Ultinon anymore since the color already looks beyond what I expected. Now I'm finally satisfied!! Next time, I think I wouldn't get A6 projectors since they are hella big compared to 90mm hella projectors. I had a very hard time trying to get A6 projectors to fit into my aftermarket projector housing. Damn, those Taiwanese projectors are so small and the back housing has a very limited space. Good thing my aftermarket headlights has twice the rear length of my factory unit. I will post all my car pics, A6 DOT and A6 ECE cutoff and process on my yahoo image website around Sunday night sept 21. Look for this absolutely perfect, clean retrofit! Practically dustless and crystal clean job. To tell you the truth, I have never seen anything done this clean before!! And illusion-lighting.com charges $1400 not including headlight for this kind of work. Total project cost for my A6 ECE completion was $570 and a 3.3 hour job.
