The one sold by the BMW dealer as an OEM replacement.

I totally agree with Mr108, however a OEM HID headlamp for this bmw was never made. However, there are 2 halogen headlamp models with low beam projector units sold on the aftermarked, one made made by ZKW and the other by Hella. "Throw out" the halogen projector unit and mend in some new mounts for the well known 2003 Audi A6 Bi-Xenon projector units into the ZKW units. See http://faq.auto.light.tripod.com/car-with-oem-hid-projectors.htm for more details.

You can use either housing to put your HID system into them.

E36 - HID option from Hella

Thats great news. Because this is a new product, I really doubt that any gray importers in the US have it yet.

Price:

The price on this would be considerably higher than mending a OEM HID unit into a ZKW hedlight. But you will never get auto levelling and ease of install that Hella P/N 1AL 008 875-821 offers.
